A small town with big history and culture
Tucked into the northwest corner of Massachusetts where the Berkshires meet Vermont, Williamstown punches well above its weight. Home to Williams College, the Clark Art Institute, and the Williamstown Theatre Festival, it’s a town where world-class culture coexists with genuine small-town warmth — and where the mountains are never more than a few minutes’ walk away.
Both our properties are located in or near Williamstown, putting everything this extraordinary town has to offer right on your doorstep.
Williams College
One of the top liberal arts colleges in the country, Williams College brings life and energy to downtown Williamstown year-round. The Williams College Museum of Art is free and features an outstanding permanent collection. The campus itself is beautiful, and the surrounding streets are lined with excellent coffee shops, restaurants, and bookstores.
Clark Art Institute
One of the finest art museums in the world, the Clark opened its doors in 1955 and has grown into a destination in its own right. Its collection spans the Renaissance to the Impressionists, with particular strength in French paintings and American masters. The surrounding grounds — meadows, trails, and a reflecting pool — are worth an afternoon on their own. Open year-round.
Williamstown Theatre Festival
Since 1955, the Williamstown Theatre Festival has drawn some of the finest actors, directors, and playwrights in America to the Berkshires for a summer season of theatre. If you’re visiting between late June and August, booking tickets is a must. Free outdoor performances and late-night cabarets round out the calendar.
The Town
Downtown Williamstown is exactly the kind of New England village you hope to find. Spring Street is lined with good restaurants, a beloved independent bookstore, and charming shops. The Store at Five Corners is a short walk from The Farmhouse and is the perfect stop for a morning coffee or a bottle of wine before dinner. Waubeeka Golf Links, a public 18-hole championship course, is minutes away.
